WhatsApp is a widely used chat platform. It boasts a large number of great features, unlike most chat platforms and applications that restrict users from replacing or changing the quality of uploaded images.
Maybe this is the first time you know that you are able to replace and change the quality of the images you upload to WhatsApp. But be sure that you are actually able to do that. The thing is that this setting is buried deep within the settings options. So, in this article, we will show you how to change the photo upload quality on WhatsApp.
How to change the photo upload quality on WhatsApp:
- In the first step, open WhatsApp on your smartphone. Tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner to access Settings.
- After clicking on the three dots icon, click on the Settings option from the drop-down menu.
- You are now inside the main settings window, click on the “Storage and Data” option, which is the fourth option in the window directly below the “Notifications” option.
- Now from the storage and data window, you will find an option below this window named “Photo upload quality” in the same section as “Media upload quality”.
- Once you click on this option, a new pop-up window will open called “Photo upload quality” which contains three options: “Automatic”, “Best Quality” and “Data Saver”. The first option allows WhatsApp to make the appropriate decision based on the image you are trying to upload. The second option allows you to upload the image at the highest possible quality. The last option will compress the image to save data.
That’s it! Choose the quality that suits your needs and click “OK.” This feature gives you control over the image quality you upload to WhatsApp, a valuable option also available in Facebook Messenger.
