How to Activate Facebook Dark Mode on Desktop or Mobile

Many users now prefer the dark mode feature for many reasons. Some simply like it, while others believe it is better for their eye health. It can also play an important role in saving energy on phones with AMOLED screens.

In any case, and fortunately, many applications, services, and websites now offer a dark mode feature for all users. And of course, Facebook is no exception. In this article, we will explain how to activate Facebook dark mode on desktop or mobile.

How to activate dark mode on the app

First, open the Facebook app on your Android phone. Click on the three horizontal lines icon in the upper right corner of the screen, which is the settings icon.

Then from the drop-down settings menu, select the Settings & Privacy option. Then from the new window, click on the Settings option to open your personal preferences settings window.

Then scroll down until you reach the “Dark Mode” option and click on it. Then activate dark mode by placing the circle in front of the “On” option. However, if you are using dark mode on your phone as a default mode, you do not need to activate it on Facebook.

Note: If your phone is in English, you will need to click on the “Settings & Privacy” option. From the new window, select “Settings” and then “Dark Mode”. Then activate dark mode by activating the circle in front of “On”.

How to activate dark mode on a desktop

Go to your computer and log in to Facebook. Then click on the small down arrow at the top and select the fourth option, Display & Accessibility.

All you have to do now is activate the “On” option under the Dark Mode section and that’s it. If you want to end dark mode again, all you have to do is activate the circle next to “Off” under the Dark Mode section.

Of course, dark mode helps a lot with relaxing your eyes when using your smartphone or computer in dark rooms. It reduces eye strain, so you’ll face fewer problems sleeping in the evening. Additionally, dark mode conserves battery power on devices with AMOLED screens.
