Fix iPhone Screen Rotation

Automatic screen rotation is one of the most important features of the iPhone, allowing you to enjoy videos, movies, and games in full screen by simply turning your phone sideways. However, sometimes the screen may not rotate, no matter how you try to adjust its orientation. Some people may think there’s a problem with the screen or the gyroscope sensor, but in reality, this issue can affect anyone, regardless of the iPhone model or iOS version, and it’s not due to a technical malfunction.

Here are some effective solutions that have been proven to fix iPhone screen rotation problems:

1. Disable Screen Rotation Lock

The Screen Rotation Lock setting in the Control Center prevents the iPhone from rotating automatically, regardless of the orientation of your phone. If you notice that the screen is not rotating automatically, it is best to disable this feature from the Control Center.

Check next to the battery indicator to see if this feature is enabled or disabled. If you see an arrow symbol curved around a lock, it means Screen Rotation Lock is enabled, which you should disable.

2. Make sure the app supports automatic screen rotation

Not all apps and games support automatic screen rotation. Check if the app you’re using is one of them – some prioritize a specific viewing experience and won’t rotate no matter what you try. Unfortunately, tilting your phone, locking and unlocking, or other tricks won’t help in these cases

Strangely, many new iPhone models do not support this feature on some apps. Even though other iPhone models support this feature with the same apps, especially iPhone+ and Pro models.

To determine whether the problem is caused by a phone malfunction or by an issue with the app itself, try one of the apps that supports automatic screen rotation on all iPhones, such as the Safari app. If you notice that the screen rotates normally, the problem is with the app you’re using.

3. Disable the “Screen Zoom” feature

The Screen Zoom feature is excellent for increasing the size of icons, text lines, and text. This makes it easier to see for everyone, especially those with poor vision.

However, if you find that the screen does not rotate automatically in any app and yet Screen Rotation Lock is not enabled, the problem may be caused by enabling the Screen Zoom feature. The only solution is to disable it so that the accelerometer sensor can work normally again in all apps.

4. Restart your phone

This radical solution is ideal for resolving the majority of the issues we encounter while using the phone. If you have tried all of the steps outlined in the preceding paragraphs and the problem has not been resolved, you have no choice but to restart the phone again. This attempt will try to clear the RAM of any processes that could be causing a conflict between the system and the apps. The screen may be able to rotate normally after that.

5. Take your phone to a repair shop

If all of the previous attempts we mentioned in this article have failed, unfortunately, the problem may be with the gyroscope sensor. Yes, these sensors are easily damaged for many reasons, and it is very easy to be exposed to many malfunctions. Therefore, the only solution may be to have the phone repaired and install a gyroscope sensor to enjoy your new iPhone.
